A.1069 is based on a variation (729) of the ‘Fledermaus Chair’ by Josef Hoffmann who designed the models in 1907 for the main hall of Cabaret Fledermaus in Vienna. It was manufactured for many years after by Jacob & Josef Kohn, the original 728 model was integrated into the permanent collection display of Design Museum Gent. OpenStructures created an interactive installation in relation to items from the collection, including a modular version of this chair and based on wood screws contributed to the system by Diane Steverlynck & Maud Vande Veire. project assistance: Yolanda Blum photography: OS_Studio, Lili Dellesalle
